Rube goldberg
In this project, we got into groups of three or four and made Rube Goldberg machines. The first step was deciding what we were going to do as our last step was going to be. Once we finished this, we had to make a design draft to make sure we knew what we were going to make. We had to have 12 total steps and have four of them analyzed. Once we had the design draft we were able to move on to construction. This was easily the longest and most difficult part of the whole project. We weren't able to finish building it until the day of the exhibition. During the exhibition we had a lot of good runs, but one of the steps ended up breaking and we had to wait to keep showing it until we had a replacement piece for the step.
Our first project
This project was our first big project for 9th grade science. This Project was to find out how technology affects how kids/teens perform in school. I did this to find out how much screen time is okay for school so We can cut back on it and perform better in school. I chose to do this in a paper rather than the other options we had like making an info-graphic.
This project helped me grow in my ability to ask scientific questions. My question for this question was much better than the first ones we asked in the beginning of this year. I also became better at using my time in class well. Before this project I tended to use my time in class rather poorly, and as a result never finished anything. In this project, I realized that it is important to use my time well and got most of my project done in class.
